The name of "Taixing" in Chinese means that the nation and people are peaceful and safe. Our city has a long history of over 1069 years. Located in China’s most developed Yangtze River Delta, Taixing is a newly developed riverside industrial city. There are 26km water line which belong to the Yangtze River crossing the
city. With a population of 1.28 million, it covers an area of 1.253 square kilometers. Its total economic volume takes the first place in the middle and north of Jiangsu Province. It has been enjoying the name of “Home of Gingko”, "Home of Education" and "Home of Construction".
Taixing has convenient land and water transportation. Expressway from Nanjing to Shanghai and the expressway from Nanjing to Yancheng are crossing the hinterland of Taixing. There are 5 highway interchanges along these expressways; The Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge connects the cities of the south and north of Jiangsu Province. It takes just 2 hours from Shanghai and Nanjing to Taixing by driving. It's just one-hour-driving from Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou to Taixing. The railway from Xinyi of Jiangsu province to Changxing of Zhejiang province which is under construction will also cross the hinterland of Taixing . There is a 30km-waterline of the Yangtze River in the city. The water is deep and the waves are small, so it is the golden part of the "Golden Waterline" of the Yangtze River. The docks group has been set up with the 10-thousand-grade common-used dock, chemical dock and coal dock, etc. The convenient river-and-sea coordinated transport has been set up.
